FASHION: [behind the scenes | bcbg]
as i was reading some of my daily blogs, i came across this video documentary of the days before the BCBG/Max Azrai/Herver Leger fashion show in NYC. I know that probably everyone says this but i would LOVE to do everything they show in this video and more! the preparation, organization, planning, fittings, casting, styling, etc.
i know i've only worked on one fashion show, but i still learned A LOT! mostly i learned what i wouldn't do, but none the less i learned so it was a awesome experience in the end. even though it was complete chaos i still loved it! we helped set up and during the show we we're dressers. so you can only imagine how crazy it was backstage. but i LOVED it all.
now how do i get my foot in the door? any suggestions/help/advice?? >_<

PERSONAL: [camera | hobby]
for those of you that know me, know that I've always loved photography taking/developing (before digital)/admiring (i.e. my previous post about photography).
For awhile now I've been wanting to purchase a Digital-SLR. My ultimate dream SLR is the Leica M8. but lets face it people i don't have that kinda of money to be throwing around right now (starts around $5000 body only).
but besides money i worry about how often i'd actually end up using it. So i've been thinking (also for a long-long-long time) about getting the Nikon D90. but although its a cheaper it's still a pretty penny in my eyes (body & lens around $1200-1500) i still worry about how often i'll use it.
i mean i know i'll probably only use it for vacation and trips. but really besides this year, how often do i actually go on trip and vacations? right?! And since i go to my friend Krista who is a professional wedding photographer for all my camera/photography questons, i asked her the same thing about how often i'd use it. She said the one thing I never thought about, but does interest me... FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY!
Krista said "hey you never know, maybe you'll like it and get into fashoin photography!" and although I'm not sure i'd even be that good at photography, it did peak my interest when she said it. how awesome would that be if i became a fashion stylist AND fashion photography???!!
i'm dreaming i know! ha, but sometimes it's good to dream don't you think?

THOUGHTS: [life | living | choices]
Life is all about curve balls, bumps, hills and mountains. Nothing ever goes the way you planned/hoped it would go. some people think that you should plan for the unexpected (don't get me wrong, i agree), But that would mean you wouldn't be able to experience a lot of the things you'd want to do in life today.
personally i think that if you ALWAYS plan for the "what ifs" in life, you're really not living because you'd always be holding back from the things today for something that might or might not happen tomorrow.
If I've learn anything from my brother, it would be that life's too short and to live life to the fullest. If my brother would've held back and always planned for the future he wouldn't have gotten to do all the things he loved and enjoyed in his 28 years of living. And it would've made it harder for me to except his passing if he had lead a un-fulfilling life (in his eyes, not mine). He did everything he enjoyed and everything that made him happy and to a certain extent i think we should all live our lives like he did.
In no way am i saying blow all your money and never save for the future, but with choices you make sometimes you really need to just say "carpi diem" and go with it. Because if you're always holding back, what are you really experiencing in life and how is that a way to live?!
Life is a learning process. There's always going to be curve balls, bumps, hills and mountains that changes your course in life, which are things you can never really plan for. But it's all in how you go about handling situations that arises in front of you. Don't be afraid to live out your life the way you wanna live it. Yes, plan for the future (house, car, the unexpected) but also Be free and enjoy life TODAY!
so i say to you...
CARPI DIEM!!!
